Since acting as an Animation Lead on larger 2D projects I’ve come to appreciate how important an optimised workflow is. After discovering the ability to write my own JSFL commands I’ve evolved how I used Adobe Animate. I’ve sped up my workflow and animation output dramatically by combining repetitive steps and assigning them to single hot keys. Hopefully, these tools will have the same effect for you! Dream Clean Up
Dream Clean-Up is an extension created for Adobe Animate. The Brush Offcuts Command and Stroke Slasher Tool! Inspired by Toon Boom Harmony’s long-envied Cutter Tool and Adobe Illustrators Knife Tool. This Extension allows Adobe Flash/Animate Animators to clean up their brushwork quickly and effortlessly. It’s the Clean Up process you’ve been dreaming of.
Framer Roller
Frame Roller is a command for Adobe Animate that allows you to flick to the FrameScrub tool to scrub through your animation, then flick back to the frame you were working on with the tool you were previously using. A simple little trick that allows you to stay focused on drawing without having to wrangle with your toolbar and timeline.
Layer Alligator (Coming Some Day)
8 easy-to-use Adobe Animate custom commands designed to give the animator total control of their layers in just a few keystrokes. These commands have been inspired by features in After Effects like; Shy Layers, and Layer Labels as well as Toon Boom Harmony’s Art Layers, Drawing View and X-Ray mode. Eventually, it grew into an ecosystem of little commands that have sped up my workflow pretty dramatically and I plan to make them commercially available when I have the DAMN TIME.
